About CheckMyIP.tools
CheckMyIP.tools is a small, friendly website that answers one question quickly: what is my IP address? Open the page on your computer or phone and you will instantly see your public IP, where it appears to be located, which internet provider it belongs to, and a few handy details about your browser.
Around that simple answer we have built a set of free network tools and plain-English guides, so you can also check whether your VPN really protects you, find out why a port will not open, or understand why your emails are being blocked – without needing a networking degree.
Who we are
CheckMyIP.tools is built and run by Software Portal Co., Ltd., a software company based in Bangkok, Thailand. We built the site because the questions behind it come up constantly when running servers and networks – why won’t this port open, why is this mail server on a blocklist, is this VPN leaking DNS? – and we wanted one clean, ad-light place with honest answers and tools that run on our own server rather than relaying your data to third-party lookup services.
What you can do here
- See your public IPv4 or IPv6 address and copy it with one tap.
- Check your approximate location, internet provider (ISP) and network (ASN).
- Look up the details of any other public IP address.
- Confirm that your VPN or proxy is working, and test for DNS and WebRTC leaks.
- Get your IP from scripts with
curl https://checkmyip.tools/ip. - Use 14 free network tools: port checker, ping, traceroute, DNS and WHOIS lookups, blacklist check, a subnet calculator and more.
- Learn how things work in our guides – from changing your IP address to subnetting and DNS records.
Our principles
- Free and no sign-up. Every tool works without an account. The site is supported by advertising.
- Privacy first. Tools that can run in your browser do, so the data never reaches us. We do not set our own tracking cookies, and server logs are deleted after 14 days. Details are in our privacy policy.
- Honest results. IP location is an estimate and VPN detection is a set of clues, not proof. We say so on every result instead of pretending to be more precise than we are.
- Explain, don’t just display. Each tool page explains what the result means and what to do next, and our guides go deeper.
Where the data comes from
Location and network information comes from the free DB-IP databases, which are refreshed every month. IP location is always an estimate and usually points to your internet provider’s network rather than your exact address. DNS lookups use public resolvers (Cloudflare, Google and Quad9), WHOIS data comes from the official domain registries and regional internet registries (RDAP/WHOIS), and blacklist checks query the public DNS blocklists directly.
How we keep content accurate
Our guides are written by our own team and reviewed when operating systems, browsers or the underlying standards change. Every guide shows the date it was last updated. Menus on routers and phones vary between brands and versions, so where steps may differ on your device we say so. If you find something that is out of date or wrong, please tell us – we fix reported errors quickly.
