Which tool do I need?
Not sure where to start? Here is a quick guide to the most common questions people bring to us, and the tool that answers each one.
- “Is my VPN actually protecting me?” Start with the VPN & proxy check, then run the WebRTC leak test. A VPN is only doing its job if both show the VPN’s network, not your own provider.
- “Why can’t my friends join my game server?” Use the port checker to see if the port is reachable from the internet. If it is closed even after you set up port forwarding, read about CGNAT.
- “A website is slow or won’t load.” Ping it to see whether it responds and how quickly, then use traceroute to find where along the path the delay or loss starts.
- “My emails are bouncing.” Check your mail server with the IP blacklist check, confirm its hostname with reverse DNS, and verify your MX, SPF and DMARC records with the DNS lookup.
- “Who owns this domain or IP?” The WHOIS lookup shows the registrar, registration dates and the network owner’s abuse contact.
- “How many hosts fit in this subnet?” The subnet calculator works out network, broadcast and usable host range for any IPv4 or IPv6 CIDR block.
How our tools work
Some tools run entirely in your browser – the user agent, screen resolution, browser fingerprint, subnet calculator and IP converter never send your data to us. Others need our server to do the work, because a browser is not allowed to send pings, run traceroutes or query WHOIS servers. For those, our server makes the request and shows you exactly what it saw. We do not store the results; see our privacy policy for details.
Each tool page explains what the result means and how to fix common problems. For deeper background, browse our guides.
